Director of Music Alex Helsabeck has been a member and soloist with the U.S. Army Chorus since 1998.  Although he makes his home in Rehoboth Beach, Alex commutes to Washington, D.C. where he is stationed and performs at the White House, the Capitol and other official venues.  Alex brings to our parish the talent and director/leadership abilities earned through academic and vocal training at such prestigious institutions as The Catholic University of America, Florida State University, Brevard College, and Huntingdon College.  Alex studied privately with renowned composer and soloist, the late Dr. Jeanne E. Shaffer, with noted soloist and artistic director Elizabeth Kirkpatrick Vrenios, and acclaimed vocal pedagogue Dr. Joyce Farwell.

In the course of his career, Alex has served as music director in many Washington, D.C. area churches.  As the director of “Notebusters”, an after-school program he developed serving three Washington, D.C. schools, Alex, through the art of singing has encouraged children to build a positive self-image and “I can do this” attitude.  The young people are featured in spring and fall concerts each year.  Alex was also instrumental in organizing the “Baritones by the Sea” concerts, bringing the Baritones of the U.S. Army Chorus (his vocal counterparts) to our parish for a September concert series and wowing audiences each year since 2005.  For more information, visit Alex’s website:  wwww.alexhelsabeck.com

The Parish Chorale is comprised of members and nonmembers & friends of All Saints' Church and St. George's Chapel. The Parish Chorale sings for special services beyond regular Sunday morning masses such as the Jazz Mass, Advent Lessons and Carols, Epiphany Lessons and Carols and the Good Friday service.  The rehearsals begin in August on Thursday's at 7 pm at St. George's Chapel parish hall.  Off season the rehearsals move to All Saints' Church on selected Thursday nights.  In September the choir begins work on the annual Jazz Mass, an event performed during the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival in October.

There are many opportunities to sing with the choir during the year even if you are not able to commit year round.

The Hand Bell Choir performs on special occasions throughout the year.  Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 5:30.p.m. at St. George's.  No experience is necessary to become a member-just an interest in fellowship and a willingness to learn!

The Men's Chorus-In the early Spring of 2009 The Episcopal Parish of All Saints' Church and St. George's Chapel formed a men's chorus which was organized by Interim Director of Music, U.S. Army Chorus Member and parishioner, Alex Helsabeck.  The men's first performance was a "Hail and Farewell Concert"-- a good-bye to Helsabeck and a hello to Craig Campbell, who was taking the reins as the new Director of Music.  The men's next performance was "Let Freedom Ring! A Musical Celebration" a medley of patriotic tunes and was held July 1st at St. George's Chapel.  Most recently on All Saints' Day November 1st, the men sang an Office of Compline, a beautiful candelight service that was followed with a selection of choral works that included songs with the theme "The Sea."  The chorus continues rehearsals with plans for future concerts.  All men of the parish are invited to sing with the chorus.  Please contact Director of Music Craig Campbell if you are interested in more details.
