Our parish’s clergy associates and lay leaders have created truly extraordinary opportunities for continuing Christian Education & Formation for all ages, a large and varied selection for any one parish. Be strengthened in your own discipleship and ministries and share your own spiritual insights; participate in the rich offerings listed below. Click on the links to learn more.

For Children

Sunday School - Throughout the school year, our children are nurtured in their faith by our Sunday School and Nursery Care teachers, and by their participation in Holy Communion and the life of the parish. Beginning Sundays at 9:15 a.m. at St. George’s and 9:45 a.m. at All Saints’.  Children are always welcome at worship.  Sunday School resumes September 19th.

Vacation Bible School - Nearly eighty children and dozens of volunteers gather at All Saints’ the third week of July for five days of lessons, singing, prayer and play.  The church sanctuary and parish hall are transformed according to the week's theme, and great fun is had by children and staff alike.

Camp Arrowhead - For over fifty years, our parish has provided teen and adult staff and many scholarships for children to participate in our diocesan camp on Rehoboth Bay. Camping ministry is very effective in enlivening young people’s faith.

For Children & Adults

NOOMA Short Film Miniseries-Mother ELizabeth Kaeton presents this extraordinary short film series by Rob Bell that seeks to explore our world from the prespective of Jesus.  For children and adults to engage in focused intergenerational dialogue about our faith.  At coffee hour at All Saints' parish hall, approximately 11:15 to 11:45 a.m., October 24, 31 and November 7.

For Adults

Religious Issues with Canon Simon Mein - We are so blessed to reap the fruit of Fr. Simon’s years of scholarship and discernment. This book and Bible study group discusses theological issues throughout the school year on alternating Fridays from 3:00 to 4:30 at All Saints’ parish hall. Wednesday Bible Study at St. George’s - John Birdsell leads this group of faithful participants in exploring the many books of the Bible.  A good introductory study that is open to newcomers at any time and meets Wednesdays during the school year at 10:30 a.m. at St. George's parish hall. Meetings resume September 15th.

Tuesday Bible Study at All Saints'- Rev. Beth Doty will lead a study group based on the lectionary readings for the upcoming Sunday.  The group will meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays during the school year (September through May) at 10:30 a.m. at All Saints' parish hall.  The first meeting is September 28th.

EfM - Education for Ministry is a four-year program of study and reflection that helps empower participants for ministry in everyday life. The three-hour classes meet weekly throughout the school year.  If you are interested in starting this program, please contact the parish office for information.

Parish Book Club - Father Chris Moore’s book club meets nearly monthly for in-depth discussions of faith-related books that are assigned well in advance. Please check Sunday bulletins or the website calendar for schedule updates.  The first meeting of the 2010-2011 year is September 28th at St. George's parish hall.  For information on the book chosen each month, see the Sunday bulletin or call the parish office.

Advent Series - To help better prepare us spiritually for Christmas, a series entitled “The Shaping of Jesus ” will be held at St. George’s parish hall on Wednesday evenings December 1, 8, and 15 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Includes presentations, discussions and meditations.  A light supper will be served.

Winter Session - Pastor David Risseeuw is again hosting a new series at St. George’s on Sundays after coffee hour (approximately 11:30 a.m.) January 30 February 6, 20, and 27.  This years series title is "NIC Moments: "Teaching old dogs new tricks."  This series will challenge our presumptions about the naure of Christ's church...just what did we learn when we were younger, and how has the culture distorted our understandings.

Esther de Waal - Parish friend and renowned Celtic scholar Esther de Waal visits the parish from her home in Wales to continue to expand the horizons of our faith. An extraordinary blessing for the community.  Her 2010 visit will be Sunday, November 28th at 11:30 a.m. at All Saints' parish hall.  Light fare and refreshments will be served.

Lenten Series - On Thursdays beginning with our 11:30 a.m. Healing Service and a soup lunch hosted by our ECW Board and Chapters and Men's groups, we gather for a series of presentations and discussions of various topics essential to our faith. Previous topics include The Beatitudes, Creation: Perspectives in Science & Theology, and The Use of Prayer. Five Thursdays March 17- April 14.

Lenten self examination questions

Inquirers’ Classes - To prepare for Confirmation and Reception in The Episcopal Church during the Bishop’s yearly visitations, new parishioners and teens gather with the Rector to discuss the Bible, The Book of Common Prayer, Church history and other issues of our faith.  The next class is offered at the beginning of the new year.  If you are interested, please call the parish office.

Summer Series - Fr. Chris continues his popular summer series, this time with the theme “Green Living and Faith” focusing on being proper stewards of God's Creation, including our inner lives.  To be held on Wednesdays July 6 through August 3 at 5:30 p.m., All Saints’ parish hall.  A light dinner will be served. 

Marcus Borg Series- "What it Means to be a Christian" facilitated by Rev. Beth Doty, this five-part series includes an on-screen presentation and discussion led by the acclaimed theologian and author, Marcus Borg.  Topics include, God, Jesus, Salvation Practice and Community.  Please prepare for the first session by answering assigned questions, call the office for details.  Wednesdays, September 22-October 20 from 5:30-7 p.m. at All Saints' parish hall.  A light supper will be served.

such abroad range of wisdom and with whom we can share
