All Saints' Episcopal Church and Saint George's Chapel, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

  Parish Youth Group

The Parish Youth Group, currently 20 kids strong has been meeting the 2nd and 4th Mondays from 6-8 p.m. at St. George’s parish hall.  The young people enjoy some fellowship as they share a meal and then have discussion on such topics as self-esteem and bullying.  The group is led by Cynthia McMahon, Michele Carey, Kim Baptiste and Father Max Wolf.

A clean-up day at the new Community Resource Center in Rehoboth was the first service project undertaken by the kids.  They worked cleaning and scrubbing the kitchen and are currently working on cleaning, and organizing the children’s area at the center.

With funds allotted the group from the churches, the kids decided to sponsor a young woman named Dabo Qalla Macha who is in the 7th grade and lives in Kenya.  They sponsored her through an organization called Food for the Hungry, whose mission is “Meeting physical and spiritual needs worldwide.”

Other plans for the near future are to participate in a clean-up day at Camp Arrowhead, have a bake sale to raise money for outreach projects, to have some fun as a group at Hershey Park and to have a lock-in at one of the parish halls.  Meetings will alternate at times between the parish halls at both St. George’s and All Saints’.

If you know of a young person grades 6th to 12th grade that would be interested in participating in a safe and inviting community of youth with adult leaders, please contact the parish office at 227-7202.  It is not a requirement that the person be affiliated with either of our churches.  All youth are welcome!
